– Two Days to Experience Hosokawa Culture

Suizenji Jojuen Festival 2026

Dates: March 28 (Sat) – March 29 (Sun), 2026

Time: 10:00–17:00 (Last admission 16:30)

Venue: Suizenji Jojuen Garden, Suizenji Approach Street, Jane’s Residence (Garden admission fee required)

Admission: Free for high school students and younger

 

During the festival period, various cultural events will be held at Suizenji Jojuen Garden, Izumi Shrine, and the Suizenji approach area under the theme “Two Days to Learn and Enjoy Hosokawa Culture.”

Events include a special exhibition of works by Hosokawa Morihiro, displays of the traditional Higo Rokuka flowers, a special opening of the Kokindenju-no-Ma room, hands-on programs at the Noh stage, tea ceremony experiences, traditional children’s games, and food trucks. A wide variety of activities will be available for visitors of all ages.

There will also be a stamp rally and demonstrations by the Takeda School of Yabusame (traditional horseback archery). Enjoy two special days experiencing the charm of Higo Hosokawa culture while strolling through this historic Japanese garden.
