About Suizenji Jojuen Garden Kimono Month
Suizenji Jojuen Garden hosts “Suizenji Jojuen Garden Kimono Month” every February.
During this period, visitors wearing kimono are eligible for free admission.
Enjoy the charm of Suizenji Jojuen Garden in traditional attire while the plum blossoms are in full bloom.

Event Period: February 1 (Sun) – February 28 (Sat), 2026
Opening Hours: Open daily 8:30 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. (Last entry at 4:30 p.m.)
Kimono Photo Contest
During Kimono Month, the “Suizenji Jojuen Garden Kimono Photo Contest” will be held.
We invite submissions of photos featuring people wearing kimono, taken within Suizenji Jojuen Garden or along the Suizenji approach.
Photo Contest Guidelines
Theme:
“Suizenji Jojuen Garden Kimono Month”
(Photos taken during February 2026 within the garden or along the Suizenji approach, featuring people wearing kimono)
Number of Entries & Size:
・Color photographs only
・Yotsugiri size (wide acceptable) or A4 size
・Up to three entries per person (only one work may be awarded)
How to Apply:
Please write your address, name, age, and contact information on the back of each photograph, and submit by mail or in person.
Kimono Photo Contest Awards & Prizes
【Grand Prize】: 1 winner (Certificate and prize: JPY 30,000)
【Selected Awards】: 5 winners (Certificate and prize: JPY 10,000 each)
Winning entries will be exhibited at the Suizenji Jojuen Garden Exhibition Hall for a designated period.
An award ceremony will be held during the exhibition period (scheduled for April).
Submission Deadline & Announcement
Submission Deadline: Must arrive by March 10 (Tue), 2026
Winners will be notified directly by mail.
Winning works will be exhibited at the Suizenji Jojuen Garden Exhibition Hall for a designated period, during which the award ceremony will take place.
Important Notes
・Submitted works must be unpublished and not scheduled for publication elsewhere.
・Permission must be obtained from the subject of the photograph prior to shooting and submission.
※ If the subject is a minor, consent from a parent or legal guardian is required.
・Copyright of awarded works belongs to the organizer. Submitted works will not be returned.
・Please refrain from prolonged photo sessions or any actions that may disturb other visitors.
